Royal King Tut Death Mask Necklace with Blue Scarabs

A vintage replica of the King Tut death mask is the main focal point of this necklace celebrating the 18th-dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun. This vintage pendant is a miniature version of the ceremonious face cover as a way to recognize a body after death. This golden Egypt death mask hangs from a gold plated linked chain that are connected to vintage turquoise lucite scarabs cabochon set in a aged brass oval setting. The scarab beetle was a desired sun symbol in ancient Egypt with the turquoise color complementing the golds in the embellished thicker gold chain with dainty engraved designs.

This original vintage pendant was made and sold at the 1976 Metropolitan Museum of Art's Treasures of Tutankhamun Exhibit. The pendant is marked "MMA 1976", measures 2 1/2" w x 2" h.
